Middleton, but also write horror under Kristen Middleton.

Um, WHAT?!?

This book was so far fetched, I can't believe I actually finished it! Lindsay has what she believes to be the perfect marriage. Then, she catches her husband with two women, at the same time! The husband has the most ridiculous excuse as to why he is cheating, but apparently it's actually the truth since the author fails to explain the situation any further.
The dialogue is forced and unnatural. The characters's reactions to terrifying and tragic events is completely unbelievable, it's like every character is afflicted with a flat affect. Then, in the midst of these crazy events, Lindsay decides that now is the time to get it on with the hottie new neighbor. You don't feel like any character has any real emotions, except Jake, who is perpetually horny. The way he talks to Lindsay is not hot or sexy, it's just gross and inappropriate.
Skip it even though its only .99!

A good romantic suspense!

I read this last night after reading another of the author's books (Tangled Beauty) earlier in the day and I was not disappointed.

This is a fairly quick read that really pulls you in. I've read some of the more negative reviews here and I have to say that I don't agree with them. Yes- some of the situations and reactions are a bit on the farfetched side- but we're reading fiction. If I wanted a completely realistic story I'd head over to the non-fiction side of the room.

The story is fast paced and full of suspense and a couple of twists thrown in here and there. The romantic aspect, I feel, is not over the top. It's there and there's a lot of heat between the two main characters, but there's no gratuitous displays of sex just to have them in there. The romance seems to flow with the story to me.

Overall it's 4 of 5. It definitely kept me on edge and had me wanting to flip to the end to find out some things at times! (I didn't! But I wanted to!) I highly recommend you read it!

Not enough time....

This was an interesting story and appealed to me. When I started reading it however, there were some 'issues' I had trouble accepting. I will try not to spoil it for you, but here goes....

The perfect marriage that everyone including her, thinks she has is obviously just a sham. After she finds her husband in a compromising situation with not one, but two women, her idea of their perfect married life is like a chewed up piece of gum stuck to the bottom of her shoe! I found it really difficult to believe that Scott didn't think he was doing anything wrong and that he expected Lindsay to forgive him, because he was 'doing it' for his family!
And the way he was constantly pushing at her...wanting to get back together with her like nothing ever happened. He didn't respect any of her wishes for him to back off!

She then strikes up a 'friendship' with the neighbour that soon turns to, we'll you can guess what. Jake the neighbour started to put pressure on her far too soon and before she was ready for anything more. Oh sure he said he would be patient and wait, but as the pages flowed, his limit for waiting for her was 5 minutes before putting pressure to having a more physical side to the relationship. She had said that she wasn't going to take Scott back, but they never really got together and talked, so the reader couldn't be convinced. Then Scott is murdered. Lindsay becomes the Prime suspect, which in cases like that are usual. Throw in a deranged killer fixated on Lindsay, bodies turning up, misunderstandings and you have a VERY convoluted, rushed story that doesn't even begin to scrape the surface of the essential characters.

I got the feeling that her kids always got shunted off to the first person whom offered. There also was minimal interaction with the kids and Jake since most of the book focused on Jake and Lindsay and their lust, oops sorry, love for one another. The only redeeming character was Lindsay's best friend Darcy! She was a hoot! Any person would be blessed to have a friend like her. She had me laughing at her antics and her take on the world.

There just didn't seem enough pacing. Everything was rushed. Don't even get me started on their honeymoon!

There were some twists and turns to the plot, but there was just the bare skim of information to explain when it would have better served the reader to be more in depth.

It was an OK, read. Do I recommend it? I guess, but I would have to warn you to suspend your belief a bit. Would I pay more than .99 cents for it? No.

This is a great story for a first published work. It needs a bit more polish. I do apologise to anyone reading my review if I have spoiled it for you!

Use Microsoft Technet Instead

2 stars really, I give it 3 so people might actually read the review instead of discarding it as an outlier or statistically insignificant. I purchased this book because of the awesome reviews such as "the only book you need to Master 2012....."

I found this NOT to be the case. There are many typos including typos in scripts, really frustrating if you are not already a vbscript / PowerShell expert that can catch the syntax errors on first sight. By the way I have the physical book and the ebook, and its not formatting errors in publishing that were the issue with scripts, it was actually syntax errors in the example scripts. After 4 hours of wrestling with WinRm or image files and then realizing at midnight it's bad script examples in this book....well....pretty frustrating. It's like my Calc 2 class that was taught by a first year grad student.....you really want your money back, it's really disappointing, you are not getting what you paid for.

I found the book disjointed and not ...contiguous. It seems to me that it was written and published in a hurry and it leaves out a lot of detail that, if you are purchasing this book, you will want. There are entire paragraphs that are duplicated back to back, major editing and publishing errors, and it has not been edited for technical accuracy. In addition, like other reviewers have said, the book is not up to date with 2012-R2 technology!!! The authors say as much, they tell you they were half way through writing it for 2012 before they were told to change it to include 2012R2.

There is a big disconnect between details in this book on a particular topic and the questions you will get on the 70-410 and 70-411. I don't need detailed instructions on a basic windows install which this book has, but leaves out important details on harder topics such as, zero touch, answer files, .wim, etc. Microsoft isn't going to test you on how to put a CD in your drive and click next a few times but you will be tested on preparing a custom image in entirety including writing custom answer files, activation, and using said images and kits to deploy over the network or "pushing out an installation". The 3 examples I just listed on install and deployment, well, I got two multiple-part questions on the 70-410 in this area and this book has almost no information on them. (To be fair none of the non-Microsoft books have these details.)

I buy books so that experts can guide me through the tough topics.....give me an understanding I might not gleam on my own....stuff I can't find in installed help. I just don't see how this book fits into studies for a professional certification; not enough details to get you through the 70-410 or 70-411 and not enough background /theory to be a good intro book. It's not like it's a gap filler either, there's no secrets or tips in this book you won't get elsewhere. I did a Server install pre-2008 a while back with little help and only a 24-hour Sam's guide. This book is at that level but is much longer and not as efficient. It might help you do a simple install and configure for say a real small business, but it will not help you pass the certifications.

I expected more from a book with "mastering" in the title that clocks in at 1600 pages - this thing has a ton of filler. It would be a better buy if they: remove filler material; half the price; take mastering out of the title; and maybe Sybex could hire an editor and have them look it over before it is published, just saying, most of us expect a book to have been edited. Also, a 1600 page softcover, not easy to read or handle.

You may be thinking, as I was, there aren't really any good books out there on 2012R2... and this one has the most good reviews... so I'll buy this one too because I really want to be thorough...... WRONG.

***Use TechNet Instead*** Save your money! In fact some of the material in this book is straight from the TechNet website, which is free and fairly well organized. I'll try to make this more clear....everything in this book is on TechNet but only a fraction of the material on the TechNet website is in this book......you will have to use TechNet anyways. I lost track of how many times the book refers the reader to the TechNet website.....maybe every 10 pages or so.

Mark Minasi is the best author to explains complicated stuff in a fun and easy way... when you read the book everything is well explained not boring or dull like Windows server 2012 Inside out... you learn things well the right way and it's explained clearly you get the whole picture on things and can grow from there... I bought the digital copy and god do I hate kindle for pc but the book is amazing you'll learn a lot of subject and some powershell I invite you to check the table of content you can see that stuff free and read a few chapters, the way the book is priced so low for the way things are written it's really not expensive because it's done so well the whole package etc if your new to server that's the best book to get, because you'll learn about the concept and the why and this and that the stuff others author sometimes hide from you, that's why his experience and the great team who wrote the book come in, in the quality etc you don't waste your time with stuffs that doesn't matters or I mean who aren't as important as the main stuff like hyper-v and Learning about the new things in R2 and server role etc by that I mean stuffs like bcedit or hardware like in Windows server Inside out you waste pages after page about beginner stuff etc this book got meat in it you'll really learn and go deep

Great Book, Not the best for MCSA/MCSE, lacks in powershell.

This is a great book with a lot of really good insight. As an admin I have learned a lot from this book, but to those studying MCSA/MCSE be warned, this book is lacking in terms of powershell. The Microsoft Press training guides for the exams is much more through in these areas. That said, this book nicely supplements the training guides, I definitely highly recommend this book, but if you are going to be taking the cert tests, don't rely solely on this book or you will find yourself short changed on powershell knowledge when you sit the exam.

About the Author

Rolf P Lynton has had a long career in training and development. He has been associated with many institutions, mostly in India, and also in Indonesia, China, Europe, and the United States of America as a founder–dean, director, or long-term consultant. He has been John Hopkins University/USAID Senior Advisor, Chairman of the International Association of Applied Social Scientists, and has worked with the Ministries of Industry, and Health and Family Welfare in India. He is an emeritus member of the National Training Laboratory in the USA. He has authored many books and papers including Training for Organizational Transformation (co-authored with Udai Pareek, 2000) and Social Science in Actual Practice: Themes on My Blue Guitar (1998).

Udai Pareek was one of the foremost experts on training and organizational behavior in India. Between 1973 and 1985, he was the L&T Chair Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. At the time of his demise in 2010, he was Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur, India. He had been USAID Organization Development Advisor to the Ministry of Health in Indonesia. He had worked in the fields of education, agriculture, small industry, and public health. He had been a consultant to various national and international organizations and had served on the editorial board of various journals such as Administrative Quarterly, Psychologia, and other journals. His publications include Training for Organizational Transformation (co-authored with Rolf P. Lynton, 2000).

Glenn's rhetorical scholarship has earned her many awards, including three National Endowment for the Humanities awards, the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC)'s�Richard Braddock Award, and Rhetoric Review's Outstanding Essay Award. She has served as President of the Coalition of Women Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition,�a member of the CCCC Executive Committee, and Chair of the Modern Language Association (MLA) Division on the History and Theory of Rhetoric and Composition. Hiya. I'd like to talk about chickens, the laying eggs kind, but first I should introduce myself! I'm Rayzel Lam, mostly known online as "hcgchica." :) After losing close to 50 lbs with the hCG protocol and maintaining my weight loss since late 2012, I learned a lot about what works and doesn't work on this diet. I have communicated with thousands of other hCGers through private email. All this has allowed me to create something for you guys that I think will be truly helpful in achieving your goals. I've created this based on info from the real world.

On a more personal note, I love long walks on the beach...nah, just kidding. Actually my true love is the mountains and I also relish creating things with my hands. Relish. It just occurred to me that it's very strange that relish means both to enjoy greatly but is also something I can put on a hot dog. Weird.

In my off time you will find me quilting, taking photos, and painting random furniture I find on the side of the road in vivid colors. I taught my son to read when he was three and a half, something I feel very proud of. He is now 5 and reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books by himself.

If there are ever stocks to be had in the Stevia industry, I should definitely buy some because I'm positive my stevia consumption keeps that market humming!

My husband of 14 years and I danced to Mariah Carey's All I Ever Wantedat our wedding and I did not feel nervous about marrying him on our wedding day at all because I knew he was the person for me. We've been best friends since I was 15.

My weakness that you'll likely discover all too soon is that I reiterate myself too much. I guess you could call me an over-communicator. Which then you might find it surprising to know that I love being alone.

I've been an avid Crossfitter for over 3 years now and I have no idea why picking up a heavy weight just to set it down again is fun but it is. I joke with my 185 pound husband that if he was shaped like a barbell I could now deadlift him.

I have no pets because I'm allergic to pretty much most animals. Except chickens. I do good with chickens. Which reminds me I can't wait to purchase a new flock next spring.......

My husband's account, but my words! I started the HCG diet in January, but did not discover Rayzel and her website HCGChica.com until I was in my second round. I have since sent her web information and book to two friends who planned to start the diet. I found Rayzel's book to be like her website -conversational and packed full of good (researched) information. Reading her book is like listening to her videos. The informational section includes the strict form of the diet from the 1950's and a section on updated off protocol options for those who wish to try them. I appreciated the advice and information, and chose to use which pieces of the diet worked for me.

The information can be found on Rayzel's website, but having it in the book form was easier to access when I had one question or was away from my computer. I found that using the website, I ended up surfing a little before I could find the info I needed. Time-wise, having the book is more efficient.

Shipping was super fast. Follow up (and a little bonus from Rayzel) was quick as well. Communication with seller was EXCELLENT!

The workbook portion of the book is easy to mark and keep. I did wish for a more "binder" type binding as I flipped back and forth through the book. I'm a lefty, and writing in a book with traditional binding is a little awkward. I also wondered if there could be a separate digital download (or app) for those of us on a second or higher round that did not need a duplicate of the informational portion of the book, but still needed to keep a journal. We could keep this in a folder or 3 ring binder.

I was so hesitant to start the Hcg diet until I came across hcgchica on YouTube. I've followed her ever since! I love all of her information and she is so inspiring! I can't wait to get my workbook to use on my very last round(round 3) and I hope I can convince my sister to give it a shot once she see's how incredible this process is! Thank you hcgchica for giving me the tools and faith to start this diet. It is absolutely changing my life!

About the Author

Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) was born in Baden-W�rttemberg, Germany. He studied at the University of Freiburg and became a professor at the University of Marburg in 1932. After publishing his his magnum opus, Being and Time (1927), he returned to Freiburg to assume the chair of philosophy upon Husserl's retirement.

Definitive Text of 20th-Century Philosophy

This book simultaneously gave voice to and shaped some of the central ideas of 20th Century thought and culture. Few books can equal it in importance. It is very hard--don't imagine that you can pick it up and read it on your own--but it is immensely rewarding of serious study. Heidegger criticizes the view of the person that we have inherited from the Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution--the view that people are isolated individuals, defined solely by the self-conscious possession of a rational mind--showing especially the crucial role that emotion, other people, and practical know-how play in human experience. Much of the most interesting philosophical work of the last hundred years, and many of the most interesting cultural and political developments, have come from a focus on precisely these Heideggerean themes. Though a new translation (by Joan Stambaugh, published by SUNY Press) has appeared, I still use this Macquarrie and Robinson translation as my primary text for teaching this book. Though this translation can be awkward and perhaps sometimes puts a misleading light on certain notions, I believe that it is overall more helpful for allowing the reader to enter into Heidegger's thought than the Stambaugh translation is. (Of course, it would be better to have both, and I have taught the Stambaugh translation with success as well.) This book is an essential text for any serious student of philosophy, the humanities or 20th-Century thought in general, and this is the translation I recommend.

Though the book is used with stains, spots, pencil underlinings, and one spine issue; yet overall remarks is very good; pencil underlinings were removed by patient erasures, and spine breakage was bonded. Overall book structure and integrity will live up to be a good personal collection. Pages are clear and readable. I am not so much concern with the aesthetic structure as long as the overall integrity and binding of the book is durable. Dustjacket is only seemingly laminated. This translation is so priceless, though I got it with the cheapest price. I have also other translation by SUNY in softbound; and both are very useful if someone like me would have the passion to understand Heidegger better.
